Sažetak
The COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic did not create a remote working organization; but it deprived companies and public administration of excuses not to do so. When the lockdown hitlast year, we witnessed the fastest change in work behavior ever seen. Many of those organizations that were cautious in allowing their employees to work from home were so surprised at how productive and cost-effective this form of work was that many employees continued to work from home even after. If all it took to work remotely was to remove the last few excuses not to do it, what other great ideas were waiting for their moment to shine? Could a much broader trend of "digital transformation" be ready for rapid implementation? This trend is ongoing in many private sector organizations - and to some extent in some public sector departments - could digitalisation be ready for remote work? Just like remote working, the business base for the digital transformation of the public sector is already well established - paperless work and contactless business, greater employee mobility, big data analysis, improved user experience and new collaboration opportunities. With this in mind, what building blocks are needed for the public sector to succeed in digital transformation in the current climate are the aim of this paper, which will outline the key steps necessary for the digital transformation of public administration. Secondary data sources were mainly used in the paper, and methods of induction, deduction, analysis and synthesis were used as statistical methods.
