Methodical outreaches of history teaching in Civil Croatia from the institutionalization of education until the end of 19th century

Abstract
Using extensive research of relevant archives, school reports, yearbooks and literature that covers this period, the author shows how the rich tradition of history teaching in Civil Croatia (Banska Hrvatska) at the end of 19th century was based on didactic achievements from previous period and is still being used in the Croatian schools. Through examples from pedagogy textbooks as well as from high school history manuals from that period, the author proves the high standards that were being enhanced in the history teaching.
