Abstract

In this paper, an anthropomorphic object made of clay (terracotta) from the island of Rab is described. The object was accidentally uncovered during excavations in the town of Banjol on the island of Rab. The circumstances of the find, its description and the possible process of its manufacture are presented. An attempt was made to find comparative examples on the eastern coast of the Adriatic; however, in the absence of such, examples from central and northwestern Europe are presented, as well as the reasons for the spread of the popularity of certain types of clay, i.e. terracotta objects. In the conclusion, the author makes suggestions for dating the object.
