Sažetak
Ivan Illich’s connection to the project of Integrative Bioethics is not solely based on biographical circumstances; his thinking also serves as a substantial guide. Both Illich’s methods and his ethical principles, which particularly emphasize the good, proportionality, friendship and freedom, meet the demands of Integrative Bioethics. By focusing on the destructive developments of modern industrial society, several of his writings directly engage with bioethical issues. However, Illich does not stop at mere criticism; he counters these developments with a convivial way of life, where technology and institutions are oriented towards fostering creative activity. Such a human coexistence is characterized by personal freedom and vitality.
