Abstract

The specifics of the Croatian gallantly era are German language and German spirit. They begins to penetrate into all spheres of social life. In northern Croatia is not an unusual phenomenon of literary texts that have reached for the nearest and most appropriate corpus of the German dramatist. The golden sources in southern Croatia were Italy and France. Important question about the meaning of kajkavian drama is especially its originality. A similar problem is evident in Dubrovnik's and Dalmatian dramatic literature of 18th Century (frančezarija, talijanarija). In contrast to the Jesuit school drama, kajkavian adaptations were closer to the everyday spoken croatina language. This type of drama raised theater audience in northern Croatia, which reaffirms that the kajkavian idiom is sufficiently developed enough and suitable for creating dramatic oeuvre of old croatian literature.
