Abstract

The article describes the carrying out of the integrated class days with the
first-, second-, third- and fourth-grade pupils of the Elementary School Kraljica Jelena
in Solin, School district of Kučine. The aim of the integrated class days was to
learn about the water primarily through experiments and discoveries in the students’
immediate environment. This type of research arouses great interest and motivation
among students, increases their contentment in school, their activity and desire to
discover new things, to research and cooperate.
The activities of students and teachers have been briefly presented through
several different school subjects (Science and Society, Croatian, Mathematics, Art,
Music and Physical Education). The third grade students' activities are most thoroughly
described, since the author of the article was also the author of activities dedicated
to the Days of Water and the majority of the activities took place in her class.
