Abstract
Contemporary educational practice, on every level of education, is based upon standards and policies. Such regulation of student’s accomplishments can produce contraeffect on his competencies. Success in functioning in changing contexts is prerequisite to person’s material and personal existence. Thinking about this numbers it is inevitably to ask the following questions: which are the competencies of the future; can we, with current knowledge, develop an insight into the future and adequately “equip” students with competencies; and does the standards and policies encompassed in actual pedagogical documents allows students’ independency and efficiency in adulthood? To inspire the dialogue about future avocations and competencies needed for its st realization, we set forth results of work with 1 grade students, who are through group work and drawings expressed their vision of future. Analysis of drawings and students narratives on theme “Future” showed students’ focus on technical accomplishments, safeguard of nature and distribution of social resources, and social order and human well being.
