Abstract
Goal of modern, student-centered, teaching is to teach students how to apply acquired knowledge in life situations. In order to acquire knowledge and skills, students need to be motivated for learning. In my practice I use a number of modern teaching strategies that help me motivate students. This paper provides an overview of modern teaching strategies used to teach ten year olds about seed germination. The article describes modern teaching strategies: Brain Storming, Case Study, and the Didactic Game Tabu, with the aim of transmitting and sharing ideas, experiences, different methods and strategies of teaching among colleagues. Survey were used to examine the students' opinion on teaching strategy Case Study. The results of the research have shown that students are most eager for practical work, and the teaching strategy Case Study arouses positive feelings in them, which is extremely important for student motivation.
