Abstract
For the purposes of this work, a review was conducted and data was collected on the technique of preparing alfalfa hay on the Oroz family farm in 2023/2024. In addition to alfalfa, corn, winter barley and winter wheat are grown on the farm. They are engaged in livestock farming, and they prepare the feed for the livestock themselves. Alfalfa is produced on about one hectare for the needs of feeding horses, mostly during the winter period, and is mowed on average four times a year at the beginning of flowering. Based on the dana collected, it was concluded that the preparation of alfalfa hay for feeding horses was carried out in a timely manner in order to preserve the nutritional value, while rationalizing losses. The owners properly maintain the machinery on the farm during the season and properly store and preserve it outside of the season of use.
