Sažetak
Self-evaluation has been established as a new approach to quality analysis of one’s own work in many fields and business activities. Along with external evaluation, it is considered to be the most effective quality improvement mechanism of a certain activity. In the process of self-evaluation libraries may apply various methods, from self-evaluation questionnaires and user surveys to SWOT analyses, benchmarking and making of development plans and other strategic library documents. The paper analyzes the self-evaluation process of the library of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Osijek and proposes the establishment of a self-evaluation model which would not just be based on the quantitative measurement of equipment but also on indicators of the effect libraries have on the quality of classes and studying at university in general.
