Upper classes primary school student impressions of online learning

Sažetak
In the beginning of online teaching in the school year 2019/2020, a research was done aiming at questioning the 5th through 8th grades student impressions of online teaching and distance learning. Distance Learning Attitudes Questionnaire, Learning Climate Questionnaire, Self Regulation Questionnaire and Schoolagers Coping Strategies Inventory were used. The results have shown that there are differences regarding the perception of learner autonomy between lower upper classes (5th and 6th graders) and higher classes students (7th and 8th graders). Younger students perceive themselves as having greater learner autonomy than older students, which leads to higher learning motivation. There are no significant differences in respect to impressions of online learning between younger and older upper classes students. These statements show that pupils are eager to go back to school and continue regular classes. There are differences in applying strategies of stress management between boys and girls, where boys usually express aggressive behavior more frequently than the girls. Distance Learning Attitudes Questionnaire shows that students identify online learning with availability of materials on the Internet, which might be related to the extent their teachers have been engaged.
