Sažetak
The last mile represents the last step of distribution to the customer. It refers to the shipment delivery in the last kilometers, where delivery services pick up shipments from distribution and logistics centers and deliver them to the customer’s address or the nearest agreed location. The main task of the last mile is that the shipments reach the customer in the shortest possible period and with the lowest possible costs. For this reason delivery services introduce new logistics solutions which help them overcome problems of the last mile. The problem of the last mile occurs simultaneously with to the growth of online shopping, because delivery people have to deliver huge quantities of shipped goods. New forms of delivery accelerate delivery in the last mile with the reduction of costs, reduction of traffic congestion, environmental pollution and noise. Therefore, the goal of all services in northwestern Croatia is to introduce other innovative forms of last-mile delivery in the near future, in addition to existing parcel machines. With the aim of finding out how many customers in northwestern Croatia are satisfied with package delivery, a survey was conducted on a sample of 127 respondents. Respondents stated what and how often they order online, how satisfied they are with the delivery services in northwestern Croatia and whether they would like for a new form of delivery in the last mile to be introduced.
