Sažetak
In the present study the existing knowledge about the utilization of pea in livestock nutrition is reviewed. Based on our analysis, the nutritional value of 11 pea varieties (Pisum sativum L.) - Zekon, Herold, Sponsor, Hardy, Terno, Baryton, Tudor, Concorde, Proplet, Slovan and Sully was evaluated. The results were compared with the nutritional value of 8 soybean varieties - Rita, Tundra, Moravia, Quito, Eirin, Korada, Bohemia and Vision. Since peas are used as high protein feed, attention was paid especially to the crude proteins content and their quality, which was evaluated based on the individual amino acids content. Finally the intervarietal variability was evaluated, and the most favorable pea varieties in relation to animal nutrition were suggested.
