Sažetak

Diagnostic assessment is conducted to determine the quality and level of students’ prior knowledge and skills before the beginning of the teaching process. This form of evaluation can also be used to determine the appropriate form of educational support for individual students. The Mathematics Assessment Probes are short, targeted assessments designed to elicit students’ prior knowledge as well as the common understandings and misunderstandings related to a topic. The probes can be used in primary and secondary school as well.
