Educatio Biologiae (EdBi) is an electronic journal launched in 2014 by the Croatian Biological Society, under the patronage of the Department of Biology, Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb. Since 2026, the journal's patronage has expanded to include the Department of Biology at the Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek. The mission of the journal is to support biology teachers, as well as other participants involved in teaching biology in both formal and informal settings, in their daily work, by providing resources and inspiration for improving teaching, and promoting lifelong learning in biology, with the goal of enhancing the educational practices of biologists at all levels of education (from preschool to higher education, including lifelong learning programs). The journal focuses on biological education, the methodology of biology teaching, as well as interdisciplinary and innovative approaches and research that can improve biology teaching practices. In addition to papers addressing the teaching of biology, the journal also accepts articles from other areas of natural sciences, other scientific and interdisciplinary fields, and arts-related fields of science, which have implications for the education and teaching of biology. Scientific studies and professional papers are equally important. All submissions to "Educatio Biologiae" will undergo peer review. The journal is published in Croatian with an English abstract or in English, accompanied by a Croatian abstract. Educatio Biologiae is an open-access journal, meaning its content is available in full, free of charge.
